It's been a long long long time since I updated my blog. It doesn't matter anyway, haha.
I'm in school now.. just listened to 江南 sang by 香香, a singer from China who got famous because of singing other artistes' songs and made them available online by posting "her songs" on websites. By doing this she perpetrated some copyright offence as her company did not pay JJ for using his works. So I thought, "Is she really that good?" Heard that she's exceptionally popular in China, especially after this incident.
And after listening to this song sang by her, yes, her rendition of 江南 was quite impressive. She's got her own style. But that doesn't stop me from having a bad impression on her. After all she sang JJ's fabulous work and insisted that she did nothing wrong with that!
Copyrights and creativity rights are so vulnerable. Sigh. With rampant piracy and illegal online mp3 downloading incidents going on, will we still be able to enjoy good music?
I know I can do nothing but make such exclaimations. Yeah, as an individual living in such a convoluted world, my little effort doesn't do much help, actually.
香香, display your talent somewhere else and stop building up your popularity singing other artistes' songs! That's unfair!!
