Campus Yummy

music none

Lived like a crazy and mad ghost for the past two days, because me and my project mate had to submit a 16-page layout magazine in three days. But minus away our lecture time and etc, Wendy and I in fact only had one full night and a few hours of the day to finish it. And that's why I lose sleep for two whole days!

Fortunately, I had Campus Yummy filming @ NTU to brighten this terrible week. Need to thank TS and the crew for giving me the chance to take part in it. (: But since I had been living like a ghost then, felt it was a pity that 我不能美美上镜. HAHA!

What is Campus Yummy (美食大专攻)? (http://yummyhunt.mediacorptv.sg/yummy)

It's a Channel U show hosted by Dasmond Koh and Felicia Chin. With the help of a student campus yummy guide, their mission is to hunt down scrumptious yet cheap food on tertiary campuses in Singapore.

In each episode, the yummy guide will take the hosts and a group of food tasters to a few stalls within the campus to try out the food. At the end of the day, the food tasters will vote for the best meal they have tasted.

So, one of the stops is at NTU, and I am one of the two NTU yummy guides.

On the recording day itself, we went to three places to try out the food. As a guide, I had quite an easy job, haha. I did the opening introduction with the hosts, helped out with the voting, and mentioned a few special points about the dishes I recommend.

This time's experience is fun, I start to like programme hosting, though I may look quite unnatural since it's my first time. I also got to witness the behind-the-scenes during the prog recording, and saw the dedication and patience of this production crew.

Initially I thought I would be left out since I am considered as the outsider (quite a reasonable act lah, cos the crew and the hosts already knew each other and have worked together as colleagues), but the executive producer, producer and the research writer were very friendly and caring towards me, the cameramen and assistants were very helpful too, which totally changed my impression of the TV crew and made me felt awfully good.

The food tasters were chatty too. If they had not initiated conversation, based on my "anti-social towards strangers" personality, I wouldn't have had a chance to make friends with them.

What I want to say is, this recording has sparked my interest in programme production. Hoorays! (:

Campus Yummy premieres 27 Nov, Tues 8pm on Channel U. NTU episode will be aired on 11 and 18 Dec.
