Higher Chinese 高級華文

Last year, a taiwan friend of mine asked what school subjects I'm studying. When he heard me saying "高級華文", he was so surprised that he exclaimed immediarely, "中文有分低級和高級喔?"

You may laugh at his unintentional remark, but think twice and you'll realise how pathetic some Singaporeans (especially those who can't even master Mandarin properly despite being Chinese) can be.
